DSP Boyz and B.A.P. Power

Just saw 2 of the teasers for DSP Boyz (Jae Hyung and Hyeong Kon) to me both teasers looked like the same concepts with a tweak here and there. I don't know but to me they both seemed a little... lackluster, but then again, I am talking about just a teaser. So, I'll have to wait until their debut to really form my opinions.

Also saw the teaser for B.A.P. 'Power.' Don't know exactly what to make of it, but it was interesting. I was very impressed with 'Warrior' and that made me look forward to a new year in K-Pop, needless to say I liked it a lot. So I have high hopes for 'Power.'

Still wonder what the whole deal is with the tokki (rabbit).

NU'EST Debut Video

Remember how in my first post I said that the plot line of NU'EST's video was confusing? Well, I just watched it again and I think I get it now. The boys who beat him up were part of a rival gang I suppose. I guess he got beat up because he was acting like too much of a big-shot. Later, the kid who got beat up slumps against the lockers and sinks to the ground, then Aron comes, offers his hand to the kid, and helps him up. In the beginning of the video, JR tries to put the kid back in his place when the he pushes another guy to the ground, it was like a showdown between 2 strong forces to me. So I think they were trying to help the kid.
Anyhow, I get the overall concept of the video and it fits the song very well.

What do you think?

Debuts, Comebacks, and Commentary

OK, so recently EXO released the MV for their official debut song "Mama." Finally after like 26 teasers and 2 prologue songs (both of which I thought were great) they made their official debut. So, as for the video I thought it was AMAZING, the special effects were daebak and the dance was great too. My favorite part was at 4:37, ooh that was awesome. After seeing Kai's heavily tattooed face I had to sleep with the light on that night. So after all that, I'm not an Exotic but I am trying to learn all the members' names.

NU'EST also released their debut video on March 14. I like this song a lot. I think they have owned up to their name of new established style and tempo with this video and song. I loved the dancing and the wardrobe. I absolutely loved Aron's English rap ate the end of the video; it made sense and his pronunciation was fantastic. However, I did think the actual plot of the video was  kind of confusing. They're helping the guy and then they beat him up, so I'm not exactly sure what side they're on. But as a whole I thought this was a great debut song.
I have developed 2 biases in this group.

SHINee made their comeback last month with Sherlock. Honestly, at first I was disappointed with the video, but after seeing it a few more times it grew on me. I absolutely loved the wardrobe choices during the plot scenes however, in the beginning, when they were doing the whole spin out dance (love that), I hated every single one of their outfits. I liked the dance a lot and thought that it had SHINee written all over it. One of my favorite parts was when Minho jumped over Key I thought it showed  some of his athletic ability, I've always wanted him to do that.
The actual plot of the video had me a little ticked off. Every single one of their clues was handed to them by ghost girl Jessica (loved her outfit and hair, thought her being in the video made it a bit better, just a bit). Now that wouldn't bother me so much if the newspaper at the end didn't say "Great Detective SHINee." Now being the Nancy Drew fan I am, that annoyed me, a lot.
Now about the album itself.
Out of Clue, Note, and Sherlock, I like Note the best.
Taemin's voice has improved so much and it really comes through in the album. And I really liked Minho's rap in Stranger,as well as his part at the end of Honesty.
My favorite track is The Reason, it made me cry and I thought it was a unique song. Stranger comes in at a close 2nd for me, it's catchy and had me singing-along after just one listen.
After seeing this video and looking back on their Replay days I thought they have progressed a lot- it makes me tear up a bit.
SHINee FIGHTING!!!!!!!!

B1A4 also made their comeback recently and being the BANA I am I loved it.
My first reaction to "Baby I'm Sorry" MV was (fan girl moment) ''oh my gosh, CNU is hot.''And I loved when Jinyoung staggered out of the room, it kind of reminded me of a drunkard's gait, and I paused the video so I could laugh for a full 20 seconds. Out of all the acting going on the video, I thought Baro totally nailed the post-breakup-depressed-boy role the most out of all the group.
I thought the video did a good job of carrying B1A4's image from cutesy boy band to a  more mature group and I think that's one of the hardest things to do in the K-Pop industry (SHINee's Sherlock also accomplished this. YAY!). Loved the song and ended up liking the Ignition album as a whole.

One last thing, this week I found U-kiss's Japanese single "Forbidden Love" and I am totally crazy about this song. And during the video I was fangirling all over the place.
Now, once I found out that Zander was not a member of U-Kiss anymore was mad, sad, and wanted to punch the face of the chump who replaced him, even thought I really liked their 5th mini album. But after seeing this video, I no longer want to harm to any of U-Kiss's new members. Hoon has a very emotional and powerful voice, (well, duh he came from a ballad group) like Soohyun. AJ adds even more charisma to the already very charismatic U-Kiss.
I wish U-kiss all the best in Japan.

Well that's it for now. Tell me what you guys think of my first-ever blog entry and any of your opinions about any of the things I talked about.
